Solid Waste Management
| ||||
| ||||
“To understand EM, one must first understand the two dynamic forces existing in nature-‘The Force of Regeneration and The Force of Degeneration’ both of which lies in the grasp of miniscule creatures collectively known as micro-organisms”- Dr. Teruo Higa [Inventor of EM Technology ]
The contaminants and pollutants so despised by the human beings are exactly what Effective Micro- organisms love to consume, which is why EM produces unbelievable results in controlling environmental pollution. The potential of EM to assist in resolving problems of municipal solid waste is mostly attributed to two types of micro-organisms present in it; (1) Zymogenic EMs-the effective micro- organisms which produce anti-oxidants & (2) Synthesizing Microorganisms- facultative anaerobic microbes which can penetrate inside the waste heaps and decompose them under the extreme temperature and pH inside it.
There has been a significant increase in MSW generation in India in the last few decades. This is largely because of rapid population growth and economic development in the country. SWM has become a major environmental issue in India.

Maple EM 1 Environ:
| ||||
Maple EM 1 Environ presents the most effective and simple way of de odorizing municipal solid waste and convert Biodegradables into useful/safe disposable waste which can be used as compost. The greatest benefit of Maple EM.1 Environ is that it consists of a unique consortium of microbes which instantaneously convert the microbial ecology of any decomposing waste heap from a degenerative type into a regenerative type. The advantages are complete control of pathogenic microbes, fly/ mosquito multiplication and foul smell from waste.

ACTIVATION & APPLICATION:
| ||||
| ||||
Decentralized Application
| ||||
|
Intermittent Treatment:
|
Treatment at secondary waste collection points. This will avoid foul odor during transportation, minimize fly and mosquito menace for the localities.
|
Centralized Application:
|
Application at waste treatment plants. This reduces the composting period and help produce better quality compost.

Why EM Treatment?
| ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Open dumping without any treatment of waste produces heat and releases obnoxious gases which pollutes air and during the dry season causes explosion and fire. To prevent problems of urban waste, recycle efforts should be done in an integrated manner so that Organic energy in the waste may be recycled and utilized for farmers as organic fertilizers. EM Technology which has been
developed by Prof. Teruo Higa from the University of the Ryukyus- Japan, is a fermentation based technology and is very effective to be applied to organic substances in converting them into useful organic fertilizer.
EM Technology application on a wide scale prevents problems which may exists in handling organic waste with an expectation to provide new hope to reduce the heat and bad odor, reduce fly population and reduce pathogen microorganisms in the piling of rubbish. Integrated recycle system of organic urban waste that we have developed provides a solution by recycling organic energy from one unit of production to another unit of production with assistance from EM Technology, to produce products with a high value from waste management as a whole and gain profits from such efforts.
